Airborne San Diego Slated to Open Later this Month

Airborne San Diego is situated in the lively neighborhood of East Village at the significant intersection of Imperial Avenue and 14th Street. As one of San Diego’s two urban indoor skydiving facilities, the project brings a vibrancy to East Village, and with it, a new kind of architecture.  Inspired by the beauty of aerodynamics, this project seeks to reflect the grace and strength of the human body in freefall.

The design team worked closely with owner-client Airborne America to create a sunny, bright interior with ample views from the street to the cathedral-like space inside, drawing the attention of neighbors and passersby. The facility also features stadium seating, lounge areas, a café and bar, military-style briefing rooms, and practice areas and training rooms.

Airborne San Diego’s grand opening is scheduled for December 2016.
