Open Office Spaces for Millennials

In The News |

The San Diego Union Tribune recently published an article regarding appealing office spaces for the hard-working millennial and Carrier Johnson’s Helix Electric project was featured!  What makes the Helix Electric office stand out to millennials?  The open design concept. According to Gordon Carrier, “a key goal was to break down barriers between departments and promote better communication.” The tilt-up building was originally designed as a closed-office environment.  The redesigned 50,000 s.f. building adds cubicles and glass walls to offices that slide open or closed for privacy, and a reception area that doubles as a gathering space.  The relaxed, home-like atmosphere in the office fosters collaboration and employees tend to work longer in this type of environment.
